Success or Failure--A Conscious Choice?
A Book Worth Purchasing
Few would refuse an opportunity
to accumulate enough wealth to relax in their retirement years free of worry
about income. Not everyone wants a super rich lifestyle but I don’t know of
anyone who wants poverty!
I recently read the book,
Conversations with Millionaires, written by Mike Litman and Jason Oman
that details interviews from Mike’s radio show with people like Mark Victor
Hansen and Jack Canfield, coauthors of the Chicken Soup for the Soul
series of books; Jim Rohn, worldwide mentor to millions of people; and Robert
Allen, best selling author on amazing books on making money. The authors
also include interviews with Sharon Lechter (Rich Dad, Poor Dad Series),
Michael Gerber, the E-myth creator, Wally “Famous” Amos, (Chocolate
Chip Cookie King), Jim McCann (CEO of 1-800-Flowers) and Jay
Conrad Levinson, author of the Guerrilla Marketing
Book Series.
If you want to accomplish
anything, talk to someone who has already done it and then duplicate his or
her efforts. That is what Conversations with Millionaires does for
you. It details how you can duplicate the efforts of all these successful
individuals and bring increased wealth to your life.

A Lesson From Tiger
I must confess to be severely
lacking when it comes to golf skills. My three or four times a year on the
links just won’t make me another Tiger Woods. However, playing a round of
golf makes one appreciate the high level of skill Tiger possesses. He truly
is a remarkable athlete.
This past weekend at the Masters, Tiger made a rare error in
decision. Choosing the wrong club from the tee box resulted in a very poor
placement and proved to be the beginning of the end of his valiant comeback
attempt.
When interviewed after the event and questioned about his club
selection, he took ultimate responsibility for the decision although the
suggestion to use this particular club came from someone else. He realizes
that his success or failure is rooted in the choices he makes no
matter where the idea originates.
Tiger Woods graciously accepts winning but in a losing cause,
he took responsibility for his results. Once we can accept total
responsibility for the results of our efforts, like Tiger Woods, we will
transcend into a champion.
Thought of the Month
“Failure is but a temporary inconvenience in the path of life.”
No one is immune to failure. We have all had our share of miscues throughout
our life. The difference between those who succeed and those who fail is
that the winners don’t let their failures turn into inertia. They refuse to
freeze their momentum with negative thinking and inactivity. Winners are
determined to accomplish the task they start because they understand that it
must be done to reach their destination.
How do you view failure? Commit to never let a lack of accomplishment become
a habitual pattern. Resolve to continue in spite of obstacles. Those who
willingly give up in truth probably never really wanted what they started to
accomplish. Accept the fact that you will occasionally have a setback.
Resolve to just make that incident a temporary inconvenience in the path of
your life. Keep your eye on the prize, adjust your actions as needed, and
you will quickly turn your temporary failures into lasting successes.
