Three Ideas To Remember By Billy Arcement, M.Ed.
Continually improving
our business or careers demands that we periodically stop and
reassess where we are and where we are going.
The business world can be ruthless and brutal.
To survive in today’s business climate, we must be
smarter today than we were yesterday.
No one can afford to take root.
Here are three ideas that can help you make a transition
into tomorrow an enjoyable journey and a stabilizing force in
your chosen career. I. Discover Your Purpose
We have a charge to discover our purpose.
But, identification and implementation of our purpose can be an
awesome task. Most
never identify their purpose.
Too many settle for a lot less than life offers.
They go to their graves with much of their music still to
be played; they spend their time in a state of perpetual
inertia.
How can we achieve the maximum life offers?
The answer begins with goals.
By setting goals, we begin to build focus.
By building focus, we zero in on our purpose. If you can go through the process just described, you can achieve whatever you just conceptualized. We are not tested with a strong emotional vision without the ability to bring that vision into reality. Develop goals and you can have the opportunity to live your plan. The alternative is to live the plan of others. What choice will you make? II. You Reap What You Sow
My second point deals with the most misunderstood law of the
universe.
It is a law that people constantly try to violate but
always pay the price for such foolishness.
Reduced to its simplest terms—“Everything counts.”
The Bible says, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”
Remembering this law gives value to every moment of our
life. Fully
understanding this law heightens our thinking so that we
evaluate every action we take.
Reaching our purpose demands that we set goals.
But, reaching our purpose also demands that we create the
proper actions needed to reach those goals.
By making every action count, we can more quickly achieve
our dreams and avoid wasting our time and our life.
Examine the actions you’ve used in the past to develop
your business or your career.
Have these actions improved your positioning?
How have your actions held you back from greatness? III.
Never Stop Learning For the professional, school never closes. Pros make life a continuous learning experience. By doing so, they gain insights into how to better reach their purpose. Learning creates the ability to make every day better than the pervious one. Spend one hour each day studying some phase of your business or career. In a few years, you will be the recognized expert on that subject. Study prepares you for opportunities. Opportunities prepare you to better reach your goals. Reaching your goals is a sure way to fully define and reach your purpose. Not a bad way to live a life!
